Sweet, sweet spring

15

An explosion of petals everywhere I look!
How I love this time of year ....

purple-leaved plum in the parking lot at the post office

variegated dogwood, 'Blue Muffin' viburnum, 'Midnight Masquerade' clematis, and a
spritely pink volunteer aquilegia in the front garden

a rose and her bud in the back garden

street rose gone wild behind the grocery store in Friday Harbor

and my favorite petal of all, snoozy in the back of the car,
riding with her new cotinus bush ['Royal Purple' all a'bloom]
and baskets from the Thrift
for the new studio digs  ...

More on that wonderful story in the coming month.

HAPPY SPRING
to all my pals in the northern hemisphere
(and a beautiful autumn to you southerlies)

  1. Beautiful shots. Our Autumn days here in Melbourne, Australia have been warmer than normal. While it is lovely to see the sun, we have not had enough rain & plants such as my daffodils look like they want to start flowering already!

    1. Nature gives us something different every year ... some more challenging than others [like your dafs]. This season has been spectacular for roses for instance, whereas last year's first blush was pretty meh. I also experimented with some heavy pruning on the honeysuckle in early spring and it's EXPLODING right now. Interesting cycles, all of 'em! Any enjoyable season to you, Jenny.

    1. Carol dear, is very fun to share with anyone else who may enjoy them too, thank you. Isla especially likes our visits to the plant nursery for there's a gal who works there who loves dogs & always wants to give her some pats. The best of [warm] spring to you!!
