Considering a world view

24

There are many ways to say a thing.

For those of us who don't feel particularly eloquent in the political arena and
are far more comfortable with other forms of expression,
perhaps we can look more closely
at our other ways of speaking.

Because it is my opinion that now, more than ever in my living memory,
we somehow MUST keep speaking  out loud.  It's of critical importance.
So we don't feel lost.
So we don't feel helpless.

Even the quiet work of hands and heart is not to be underestimated during this time ...
this time of which  -  to some of us  -  is looked upon
as a frightening & uncertain period in our world's history.

Again, there are many ways to say a thing....
and I think we can be a mighty choir if we don't feel so afraid.

  1. A choir of truth ... every voice lifted, each in its own way. Yes to this.

And the beauty of your cloth speaks volumes. Thank you.

  2. Thank you for using images and your words to convey the fact that we all have ways of speaking our truths, of making what matters to each of us heard, seen, known. Your first photo, to my mind and heart, brings to mind a threaded connecting world and moves me deeply...

  5. Thank you for these words. I feel as if I've been hibernating for the past several months. My 'blog' friends have helped me along the way. Many an hour spent working on punch needle and listening to "Simon and Garfunkel", "Joan Baez" and others who speak to me has helped bide my time.

"One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire."

  7. Many will have a voice no matter what or how they express themselves. My fear is that some will "fear" to raise their voice and speak their truth. We must feel free to say our thoughts in any way we feel comfortable. When we speak it helps those who have fear.

My husband asked me if I am scared to speak out so much on social media. Fear of what...retribution? They want us to be scared. If you have no other voice...sing.
    xx, Carol

    1. Residing in a state of fear is counter-productive to just about everything (except for maybe needing to run from a lion on the African plains!!) so whatever each of us needs to do to NOT live in that state, I see as beneficial. Singing is always good!!

  8. I so agree with Carol. Sometimes its like a dance as you visit with a friend, neither wanting to bring up the current political climate -- but once voiced you often find someone who agrees with you and is just as concerned you are. Knowing there are so many other rational minds is some comfort.

    1. Yes, that's happened to me too, chance encounters with others just as concerned. I've also had it happen the other way - chance encounters with supporters from the other side. I've tried to use those meetings as a way to ask questions & try to understand vs. convincing them likewise (which is impossible!!) Here, at the beginning of the 4th week, my greatest comfort is coming from staying abreast of the news; not being in the dark, keeping informed about who is doing what. There are MANY joining the Resist and Persist philosophies now!

  9. Yes! I believe that in speaking out in all our ways, we hold out courage and companionship to one another, and in doing so, we build courage and community. It is so important. Thankyou as ever.

    1. I, for one Mary, am SOOO grateful for folks like yourself who live in other countries, on other continents very far away, who are joining in with this resistance fight. The other night I was watching the news of marchers in *Edinburgh* and I almost wept with gratitude! All of these actions and ways of speaking out are reverberating and are meaningful. So Thank You.
