On the move

spring showers, leaving

her white bits, running

her black bits, diving

kayaks, just laying

shibori, making ripples

me, digging seams

  1. Fabulous photographs - I'll be going back to look at them over and over again. Everyday things depicted as if in a dream.

    1. My everyday life "as if in a dream" ... ok, yes, that sounds good to me, Penny ;>]] Except maybe the sore muscles after the digging ~ definitely not so dreamy!

    1. And a very Happy Spring back to you, Valerianna. I had a lot of fun with my iPhone apps playing with effects that gave a sense of motion. That top image definitely felt watercolor-ish to me ... and I see now a similarity to your work with inks & trees ~ thank you. May you & Pasha enjoy the new season!

  3. are YOU on the move??

I had to giggle a bit (welcome relief after yesterday's trauma) about the edging post ... I used to do that in another life. then I got lazy. and now everything jumbles into everything. the lawnmower is my edger. heh.

thinking of you sweet friend. xo

    1. ... mainly in the garden, jen ... can you say "whirling dervish"???! It's going a bit bonkers out there. I may be endeavoring [foolishly] to try and contain nature with my silly edging, but I can't think of another way to prevent the grass & weeds from taking over my perennial areas; at least, ways I can stomach. I may give it up over time as it is a *chore.* Like you, I definitely use the lawnmower as edger on the perimeter of the yard ... that and me weed wacker!!!

      Thinking of you too xo

    1. You folks over in England have certainly been having THE winter to forget ~ you probably are wondering if spring will ever arrive at this point. I hope you see signs of it soon and all best wishes for that digging, Sharon!

    1. Glad you made it home safe from the workshop, Kathy, and I hope you are feeling much better now.

That is our 2nd dog, Quinn, a real tomboy compared to my other white-pawed, oh-don't-get-me-wet, Fluffy One!

    1. oh miz Robin, I have absolutely no desire in the world to exhibit photographs. I did that *in another life* and don't enjoy it at all. I am perfectly content with my pictures having a little life of their own here on my journal blog. At some point I may consider a little picture book or two (can't you just see a diary of Isla or life with Isla & Quinn?!) just for fun, but that is all. But I do thank you [as always] for your unfaltering belief & support. They are my treasures!!

    1. For years & years, my favorite time of the year was fall. That was in CA where the autumn season seemed to be the most distinct one [if that makes sense]. Since moving here I have slowly evolved towards loving spring the most. Perhaps it's because [relatively speaking] the winters here are so long & gray. Did I say GRAY? Spring is a renewal of all my hopes. And the good times begin again, yes!!

  9. oH MY God......the half moon edger.......reminder of another life living with a lawn of golf course grass......I was obsessive with the crisp edge! I can smell the grass all the way here in the desert! Your images are stunning. I feel their energy!

and cannot keep it crisp to save my life. Still, the creeping clover (grrrrrrrr) is thwarted a bit.
You are LUCKY to have desert flowers so close ~ I adore them.
